Chunin Exams Training Day Off

“I’ve never been SO bored…” Constance mumbled to her teammates Avril and Evan. They were training for the Chunnin exams. And life sucked for them because Tai Sensei was the worst toughest sensei anyone could ever imagine. He used to work at the Konaha jail but he won’t tell anyone what he did there. He said it was a “trade secret”, whatever that meant.

Avril giggled and Tai Sensei whirled around to look at Avril. Even though his eyes were covered by his headband, Avril could tell he was glaring. Evan was quick to point fingers at Constance for talking. “Don’t point fingers.” Tai Sensei snapped, surprising Evan a bit. “Avril don’t giggle, run fifty laps around the village now and hurry.” Tai Sensei ordered.

It wasn’t even an hour into training and Tai Sensei was already making people run, truly he was Satan’s helper. “But Constance talked first.” Avril yelled back stepped forward and standing on her tiptoes to glare into Tai Sensei’s face. “What? A pathetic wimp wants me to raise the bar a little? Very well, seventy-five laps.” Tai Sensei hissed.

Evan opened his mouth to say something but Tai Sensei pointed his finger towards the direction of the village and Avril and Evan started to run.  “Tai Sensei loves Constance so much that you’d think she’s sleeping with him.” Evan said running with Avril at her naturally slow pace. Avril giggled and they kept running.

After they finished they lined back up with Constance panting and sweating, sweating and panting. Avril loathed Tai Sensei and the fact that he mentally abused and degraded her every single day of her life.

Tai Sensei spoke quickly “Push ups for all of you one hundred each, the first one to finish gets to have the rest of the day off from training.” Avril didn’t see the use in what he said. They both knew very well that he’d say Constance finished first, even if she finished last. All three of them got into push up position.

“Begin.” Tai Sensei said motioning a hand in front of him to signify the beginning of push ups. Soon they all finished their push ups and Tai Sensei called a three way tie. “Something’s up.” Avril predicted whispering. Constance nodded panting.

“Alright and so concludes your day.” He dismissed them Evan started to get up when Tai Sensei spoke again. “Now I didn’t say what you could do on your day off I just said you could have the rest of the day off. Guess what you guys get to do?” Tai Sensei asked looking around begging for eye contat, all three of them looked at each other and shrugged.

“You get to clean the shitty graffiti off of the walls of the village. You’re the only delinquents who would be stupid enough to graffiti the walls. The water and soap is waiting for you on the outside walls of the village. Good luck.” Tai Sensei said with a hint of spite and deep hatred in his voice.

A loud sound of groans came from the three. But they trudged to the outside walls of the village never the less.

Sure enough when they got there soap was waiting for them so were big buckets of water. Avril grabbed a sponge and hurled it at the wall the sponge hit the wall and the soap splattered in every direction and the sponge fell off the wall. Constance grabbed a sponge and slammed it on the wall and started to scrubs briskly and with anger. Evan grabbed a sponge lazily and started to scrub half-heartedly.

Avril picked up the sponge she hurled and pounded her fist into the wall lightly leaving a dent in the great wall. Avril scrubbed quickly and pressed the sponge hard onto the wall with clenched teeth she scrubbed.

“Don’t vandalize the Hokage’s house again Avril, let’s go do the outside wall, Avril, no one will notice Avril.” Avril chanted mocking Constance’s “brilliant” plan. Avril stopped scrubbing. “Well y’know what? They did notice!” Avril yelled turning to Constance and glaring.

Tai Sensei cleared his throat. “Now that I know your working, I’ll go into the village and enjoy my relaxing day off. I seem to get days off a lot. Maybe having delinquents for students is a good thing...” Tai Sensei let his voice trail off and turned on his heel and walked back into the village.

Constance turned to Avril and glared at her. Evan could smell trouble and moved far away from them to continue his half-hearted scrubbing. “You’re the idiot who said ‘Oh that’s a good idea I never thought of that!’” Evan heard Constance yell. “I’m not the one who is sleeping with Sensei!” Avril accused.

Constance gasped. “You take that back!” she yelled. “Take it back right now!” Constance demanded. Avril smirked she had hit a soft spot hadn’t she? “So how often do you sleep with him?” Avril asked just a little more pushing and she could finally get Constance into trouble.

“Never!” Constance screamed so loudly that a few passer bys stopped to look. “That’s not what Sensei says.” Avril said in a mocking sing song voice and continuing her scrubbing triumphantly. Constance let out an angry and frustrated yell. Constance picked up her sponge and hurled it at Avril.

Avril screamed and looked at her wet clothes. She picked up her sponge and stuffed it down Constance’s shirt who also screamed. Avril stepped back to examine her work and smiled. Hell was about to break loose, this might be her last great work of art.

Constance picked up a bucket and threw it on Avril. Avril jumped back and tried to brush the water off but it was no use. Avril picked up the empty bucket and threw it at Constance’s legs. Constance dodged and slapped Avril good and hard across the face.

Avril gaped and turned towards Constance and punched her in her cheek. Constance then kicked Avril in her stomach. Avril grabbed Constance’s leg and threw her into the wall. Evan heard and saw all of this and sighed he’d better put more heart into his work because the girls certainly weren’t going to help with their current cat fight.

The girls punched slapped and kicked each other until Tai Sensei came out and broke it up. “You stupid girls, I trust you to clean this up without me breathing down your necks and this is what happens!?” Tai Sensei scolded raising his voice gradually and pausing to let it sink in like any good lecture master would do.

Avril looked at Constance with sorry eyes Constance looked at Avril with the same expression. They knew that they were best friends and that they had already forgiven each other without saying a thing.

Tai Sensei continued his lecture. “You bring shame to me and your families. You publicly embarrass me all the same,” Tai Sensei scolded pacing. “There are no rowdy delinquents that I can’t get into shape but you are the children that I have the toughest time with. I am well respected around here but since you guys showed up I have been losing my respect from everyone else. As your punishment you will run until you puke, you will sweat until you drown you will pant until you can’t breathe any more. Go run one hundred and fifty laps around the village. Now!” Tai Sensei ordered.

And the two were off. “You too, Evan. A team that vandalizes together, runs together.” Evan started to run and wondered what he did. “If you so fair then how come Constance never runs with us?” Evan mumbled Tai Sensei glared.

“So, much for a day off.” Avril whined running beside Constance while Evan rushed to catch up.
