“Do you
understand me?” Tai Sensei yelled at Avril, who was sitting in the chair of his
office crying. Avril solemnly nodded up and down while staring out the window
trying not to meet eye contact with him, as she would certainly cry harder upon
looking.
“You’re a
fucking whore Avril,” Tai Sensei started again, he had been calling her names
and trying to break her for the past hour. “You need to fucking keep your legs
closed. What were you thinking sleeping with your housing assignment?” Tai
yelled as he grabbed the arms of Avril’s chair and leaned down into her face
threateningly. Avril didn’t want to see his disappointed and angry face so she
covered her eyes and cried.
“I’m
sorry,” she squeaked, “I’m so, so sorry Tai Sensei,” Avril managed to get out between
tears. “Sorry isn’t enough Avril,” Tai Sensei started as he paced the room,
“you need to act like you’re sorry,” Tai Sensei stopped as he folded his hands
behind his back and stared Avril down.
Avril
looked up from her hands and her face was red and tear stained. “You must wear
a skirt like any other respectable female ninja, you must behave, you must stop
drinking and partying, you must stop vandalizing and you must do whatever I
say. Unless you want to be kicked out of Konoha permanently.” Tai spat through
clenched teeth.
Avril
sighed in defeat, “Whatever you say sensei… I’ll go out and buy a skirt now…”
Avril compromised, but secretly she just wanted to get out of there as soon as
possible so that she could cry in the safety of her home.
“Fine.
Leave now.” Tai Sensei ordered, still obviously fuming, Avril began to get up
then Tai grabbed her arm and squeezed it hard until he could feel the bone and
her fast heart beat. “Wait,” Avril turned to him and gave him a pained, yet
expectant stare. “You also must wear your village’s symbol proudly.” Tai
finished as he handed her a black forehead protector with the Konoha symbol on
it. Avril snatched it quickly and jerked away from his tight grip; she didn’t
speak another word to that evil man but just left his office and headed for the
market place. She needed to find a skirt fast.
While she
was walking distressed throughout the market place trying to find something
that was actually her, because hey, if she had to wear a skirt, she was going
to wear it her way, she bumped into Jimmy.
Avril
collided with Jimmy’s big chest, she then looked up to see whom she bumped into
and she looked into Jimmy’s emerald green eyes that were filled with concern.
“What’s wrong, Av?” Jimmy asked in his thick British accent, which was
sometimes hard to understand.
Avril just
shook her head and buried herself into his chest, smelling the familiar and
comforting scent of his cologne. Jimmy could feel his shirt becoming wet with
tears and he wrapped his strong arms around Avril.
“Is it that
douche of a sensei again?” Jimmy asked sighing in frustration, not at Avril,
but at her stupid sensei. He made Avril upset a lot and it made Jimmy hate him.
Avril
nodded into his shirt and Jimmy sighed again and looked around. “Here, let’s go
for a walk in the park and let’s talk about this. Then we can go back to my
house and watch a movie like we usually do,” Jimmy suggested as he led Avril
towards the park with his arm.
Jimmy and
Avril had once dated, but it was a while ago, they both lost their virginity to
each other, which should mean something to both of them but they acted like it
didn’t matter. Even though some feelings for one another were still apparent,
they both leaned on each other when they were upset. They would go to one
another’s house and watch movies and talk about things until they felt better.
As they
walked Avril told him about how Tai Sensei chewed her out and Jimmy listened
attentively, until his cell phone went off. Jimmy quickly checked it and was
greeted with a text from Matt saying “Where the fuck r u dude? MS is getting
worried.” Jimmy asked Avril to excuse him and he texted back saying, “With Av.
TS was a douche again. Trying 2 make her feel better. Tell MS sorry that I
won’t be at training” and a few seconds later Matt replied with “Ok. MS said
that he’ll talk to TS about being a douche. See ya later”
Jimmy told
Avril that Masayoshi Sensei was going to talk to Tai Sensei about being a
douche and she perked up a little bit. Avril then told Jimmy that she needed to
find a skirt, and she was looking for a skirt before she ran into him.
“I just
can’t find one that isn’t girly, and that is short and black and my style you
know?” Avril explained balancing herself on the curb of the sidewalk as they
walked. “Well that’s why you buy a black skirt and then you cut it up or
whatever and make it how you like it.” Jimmy suggested smiling at Avril.
Avril
jumped off the curb then looked at Jimmy and smiled, she then grabbed his arm
and they ran off together to find an outfit.
“Apologize
to the Hokage now, Avril.” Tai Sensei instructed as they stood outside the
Hokage’s office. Avril sighed and knocked on the door, dreading the answer of
“come in” that followed. She cautiously turned the door knob and slowly pushed
open the door with her shoulder.
“Oh, hello
Avril,” The Hokage greeted sitting behind his big wooden desk, “What bring you
here?” He asked. Avril sighed and took a seat in front of his desk, she heard
Tai Sensei’s footsteps as he came in and closed the door.
Avril
decided that it was now or never and she took a deep breath and began to speak,
“I’m sorry for everything, Hokage. I didn’t mean to cause so much trouble,”
Avril paused and took another deep breath, trying not to cry “And I’m ready to
never do what I’ve done again and I’m sorry that it took so long for me to
realize that I was doing wrong,” Avril’s voice cracked as she interlaced her
fingers and brought them to cover her mouth.
“I’ll do
whatever you want just please forgive me.” Avril cried as she couldn’t fight
her tears any longer and they all came out on a waterfall of emotion. The
Hokage got up and put his hand on Avril’s shoulder, “It’s okay Avril. The
important part is that you’ve realized that you’ve done and that you’re not
doing it again,” Was all that the Hokage said.
Avril
couldn’t hold herself together anymore; the Hokage was so forgiving, unlike her
sensei. Avril then got up and quickly wrapped her arms tightly around the
Hokage, hugging him. He was a little surprised at this but then hugged her
back.
Tai Sensei
was shocked at Avril’s sudden change of heart; he didn’t know that a little
brat like her could change so suddenly. Avril surprised everyone that day, she
walked out of the office singing a different tune and she didn’t take the opportunity
to vandalize a shop. But the biggest shock that day was that Tai Sensei didn’t
yell at Avril, but smiled at her, like he was proud that he finally broke her.
