Ninja Rank: Genin in the original series, and then Chunin in Shippuden, he refuses to try any harder on his ninja career.

Team Mates: Charlie Ren, Jimmy Harris and their sensei Masayoshi.

Life: His parents met when his mother was seventeen and his father was twenty nine. They both fell madly in love and got married the day after his mother's birthday. After having Matt's older brother, Declan and Matt himself his mother decided that she was twenty years old and that she wanted to be a young adult so she left the family. Matt and Declan's father raised them and they were very poor, they never saw their mother again.

Personality: Out of it, lazy and has a short attention span. He is very laid back and doesn't get angry a lot, he also doesn't like to fight and doesn't want to be a ninja. He is a humanitarian and will help other ninjas in need. He is Jimmy's best friend and Matt and him get into a lot of trouble together. Matt doesn't pay attention to anything going on around him unless it's something involving him. Despite his short attention span, he tries hard to study to become a medical ninja to help other people.

Hobbies: Skateboarding, playing drums, and getting into trouble with his five friends. He also likes to study medicine, a hobby that he tries to keep to himself.

Flaws: He is of average intelligence and doesn't try hard at anything he does. He doesn't do things if it requires too much effort and tries to avoid conflict at all costs. He also drinks and smokes with his friends too much, which are too, at inconvient times.

Bloodline Limit: He can read people's thoughts, which helps in case of a battle but Matt doesn't like to fight unfairly so it is rarely ever used. He does have great strength however, despite his languid approach to life.
