Chunin Exams: Round 2 Part 6

After Naruto and Kiba’s battle Jimmy Harris and Akemi Obrume’s names were called. Jimmy was drunk and high as a kite, so he jumped sloppily from the railing. Akemi meekly walked down the stairs. Her pulse was beating quickly and she was trying to stay calm in front of this large audience. More importantly, she was facing her crush Jimmy.

            "Proctor, I'm fucking drunk. Can we like postpone this because of my current alcohol levels? Oh, and I'm high too. I really should stop taking beer and other things with me." Jimmy slurred as he swayed side from side. "I'm sorry but I can't do that. If you postpone this match then you lose." The proctor sternly said.
            Jimmy laughed a loud drunken laugh, "Oh man, you're a hoot," Jimmy started saying. "A hoot?" Evan questioned to Avril as they watched from above, Avril just shrugged and continued watching. "Fine, I'll fight. Just to make my fucking senseis happy," Jimmy slurred, his words were barely audible, but everyone got the basic gist of it.

            Jimmy and Akemi were facing each other, Jimmy was staring Akemi down, well, as best as a drunken man can. Akemi’s cheeks flushed red and she quickly looked away. “Let the battle begin.” The proctor announced.

            Jimmy made the first move. He lunged for Akemi but Akemi jumped back, startled. Then Jimmy slid on the ground and kicked upward popping Akemi’s nose like a cherry, blood went everywhere some blood squirted on Jimmy’s jacket making him cringe at the sight.

            Crush or not Akemi raced towards Jimmy as he was staring at the blood on his jacket Akemi scraped her finger on Jimmy’s arm leaving a third degree burn and setting Jimmy on fire. Jimmy quickly took off his jacket and stomped on it, then he stumbled and fell on his butt, he then laid on the ground with his arm over his head, he felt like he was going to puke his recently downed alcohol up.

            Akemi ran towards Jimmy again aiming for his feet with her finger tips on fire—her blood line limit no doubt. Jimmy leaped in the air and aimed a series of needles in a somewhat straight line at Akemi. Akemi jumped but one needle pinned her in her arm.

            Akemi let out a muffled scream and saw Jimmy from the corner of her eye. Akemi leaped from her place and towards Jimmy. She aimed for Jimmy’s heart with fire burning on her finger tips. Jimmy grabbed her arm and quickly hit her inner arm right on her elbow making Akemi’s joints give in and making her burn herself on her stomach.

            Jimmy then disappeared and reappeared behind Akemi hitting the inner part of her knees and sending Akemi forward, then he grabbed the bottom part of her dress and snapped his fingers, a great flash of light appeared and you could hear Akemi screaming as Jimmy set her on fire.

            Jimmy finished it with hitting Akemi in back of the head with his foot knocking her out cold. The exam proctor looked at Akemi then at Jimmy. “This round is over, Justin winds.” Jimmy grimaced. “It’s Jimmy, I don’t like Justin.” He mumbled the exam proctor ignored him.

Jimmy then stalked off to meet his friends, he drug his feet and couldn't walk in a straight line.

            Next was Matt vs. some other girl Matt didn’t know her name at all because he wasn’t listening. Matt looked at the ground lazily as he walked up to the field. Matt looked up at the girl and sighed. Matt’s mouth dropped. It was the girl that he saved. The girl looked at Matt.

            “I forfeit.” The girl said raising her hand with strong conviction. Female voices called from the crowd watching. “What are you doing Megumi?” they called. ‘Megumi,’ Matt thought ‘blessing; I like that name.’

            Megumi smiled at Matt. “He saved me in the forest.” She smiled. “Aw Mattie c’mon! We thought you killed her!” Jimmy called from the crowd. “You suck, liar!” Charlie teased. “You saved a girl; now she’s your girlfriend now. Do you realize what damage you have caused? I’m supposed to have fan girls not you.” Jimmy teased laughing, then he turned and finally puked up his recently downed alcohol on the floor, this made him feel better, even if he was still drunk off his butt, he was a little more sober now. Jimmy just laughed a drunken laugh at the sight of the mess he made and Tai Sensei only sighed in exasperation.

            “Saving is kinda an overstatement I just helped her with her arm—I didn’t blow her up I blew her arm up.” Matt sheepishly defended with his hands in his pockets. “Fine, the winner of the round is Matthew Martts.”  The exam proctor declared looking from Megumi to Matt.

            Megumi smiled a million dollar smile, Matt sheepishly smiled looking up from the ground. Megumi leaped in the air and joined her team mates. Matt took the stairs, he was greeted by a surprised Jimmy at the top of the stairs. Jimmy walked beside Matt. After a while Jimmy spoke.

            “Go talk to her.” Jimmy advised walking with Matt. Matt was looking at the ground he shook in head in protest. Jimmy sighed and let it go, they went to go watch the next match.

            One of Megumi’s team mates came up to Matt. Matt looked at her. The team mate cleared her throat. “T-thanks for saving—I mean—‘helping’ Megumi.” She smiled and she kissed Matt on the cheek and quickly walked away embarrassed. Matt turned bright red.

            “Ooh!” Jimmy and Evan cooed looking at Matt. “Mattie’s got a girlfriend, Mattie’s got a girlfriend,” they chanted like five years olds would. Kankuro’s patience was wearing thin. ‘Great, now they act like five year olds’ Kankuro thought.

            The next few battles were Evan vs. one of Megumi’s team mates and Charlie vs. one of Megumi’s team mates. Evan and Charlie won though (call me lazy).

            A few battles later Lee and Gaara were facing off. Guy Sensei interrupted the battle. “Holy crap!” Avril screamed clutching the rail. “There goes my admirer!” Avril sighed putting her index finger and thumb on the bridge of her nose and sighing. “Why do they always die?” Avril sighed. “Am I really that bad?” Avril asked looking at her friends. They coughed and cleared their throats. “You don’t want us to answer that.” Evan answered. "But at least you had sex with the red head," Constance consoled, at this Avril nodded.

              Choji’s battle was next and he rolled around attacking in a ball. “Whoa, fatty just got fatter.” Evan observed embarrassed for Choji. “Is that even possible?” Evan asked looking towards Constance the medic trained by her mother. “Yeah, no duh, Opra did a TV special on it a couple of times, if Opra Whinfry can get fatter then so can Choji.” Constance said in a sarcastic tone rolling her eyes and crossing her arms.

            Choji’s battle soon ended with him losing and the preliminaries were over. “And with that match the third exam preliminaries are now finished.” The proctor announced. The hokage rounded all of the finalists up and told them the rules of the final round.

            Avril’s eyes grew wide, her skin grew pale and her knees grew weak. Avril stared off into space, and totally zoned out. “Avril,” Constance nudged her. “Avril!” Constance whispered harshly. Avril swayed to the side and fell, Evan caught her trying not to make a scene, and no one was allowed to know about Avril’s abilities.

               The hokage turned to Avril. “Is she okay?” she asked holding on to his pipe. Constance needed to make an excuse and fast. “Yeah, it’s nothing, I promise, just weak that’s all.” Constance lied with no hint of hesitation peppered in her voice. Evan waved everyone off. In order to keep it quiet Constance handed Avril a scroll that she no longer needed, Avril wrote on this scroll what she saw. Evan carried Avril to the back of the crowd and sat her down on the ground.

Avril sometimes got visions uncalled for, sometimes if she focused she could see visions as she wished but it was just one of these times. The hokage finished and everyone piled out. Tai Sensei squatted down in front of Avril. “What did you see?” he asked but Avril was still in her vision. “We don’t know,” Evan answered looking at Avril with concerned eyes, “she’s been unresponsive.” Evan continued.

Tai Sensei nodded. “When was her last vision?” he asked looking at Evan and Constance for help. Constance told him about the forest. “It was that long...” Constance finished her voice trailing off. “Just let her be, when the vision is done we’ll take her back and ask all of the questions we need.” Tai Sensei ordered getting up.

“Don’t forget to tell her about the rules.” Masayoshi Sensei reminded. Constance nodded and turned her attention back to Avril.

About fifteen minutes later Avril moved and got up from the ground. Constance rushed over to Avril and asked her what she saw. Avril told her of the Chunnin exams—the third round and the training that they will undergo.

“I didn’t see my battle,” Avril started, “but I think that I lose by death or forfeit. Also, no need too, I know the rules already.” Avril smiled. Constance nodded and Matt and Jimmy, the two best friends, raced towards the door and got into a fight about who was first or last. Masayoshi Sensei, Tai Sensei, Evan and Constance were walking in step with Avril as she told them what she saw.
