Chunin Exams: Round 2 Part 1

“Alright everyone, we’re going to start handing out scrolls.” An examiner said from behind a red cloak. Team 13 (Avril, Evan and Constance) and Team 16 (Matt, Jimmy and Charlie) were at the gates of the forest of death waiting in a crowd with the other eager genin. Now, I’m not accusing any of the six of them being eager, no, it’s quite the opposite. Thanks to Tai Sensei and Masayoshi Sensei they got “screwed” with staying in the Chunin exams and not flunking out a fourth time.

            Evan psh-ed “Fuck why?” he challenged but the examiner didn’t answer. Evan scowled. “Can’t get a girl to talk to you and you can’t even get an old guy to talk to you. Is this picture messed up or what?” Constance asked rolling her eyes.

            “Bet I can get a girl to talk to me.” Jimmy challenged with a thick British accent. “You get all of the girls with that accent.” Matt said in a mock British accent. “That was actually a very good mock British accent.” Jimmy complemented turning to Matt. “Ya think so?” Matt asked beaming. “Yeah, with a little work the ladies will love you.” Jimmy suggested.

            Avril listened sick to her stomach as all four boys were crushing over girls. Avril wanted to see some action. “Hey Slim-Jim,” Avril called Jimmy turned around at his nickname. “Go flatter those girls over there.” Avril pointed to a group of Jimmy’s fan girls, Katsumi and Akemi and Shinju, they loved him more than anything.

            Jimmy winced. “No way, Av.” Jimmy disagreed meekly moving his hands across the tops of each other as a person does when they want to say no.

            “Why not?” Avril challenged standing on her tip toes to get up into Jimmy’s face. She was 5 foot 3 he was 6 foot, he had a foot on Avril easily. Jimmy cleared his throat looking down at a glaring Avril. “Because those girls would faint and go all ‘ooh’ at anything that I said so no.” Jimmy defended.

            “Pansy…” Avril mumbled before turning and looking away from Jimmy’s face. “Oh no you didn’t.” Matt said in a girly voice and doing the head thing. Constance sighed; Avril was going to kill him. Jimmy scowled. “I already said no way in hell, Av” Jimmy sighed adjusting his hat. Avril flipped him off and adjusted her hat also. Then she stuck her tongue out at him and said pansy once again.

            Jimmy shut his eyes tight and pointed at Avril and screamed “Oh my gosh Avril! you will be fucking dead in a few seconds!” Avril turned and did the same movement as Jimmy did. “Oh my gosh Justin! I can’t be dead first if I kill you first!” Jimmy winced and lowered his finger at his real name, Justin was his father’s name and Jimmy hated his father.

            “Okay, okay!” Constance screamed on the top of her lungs throwing her head to the sky with her eyes shut tight and stepping between them. People surrounding the group looked at them. Constance lowered her voice and stretched her arms out trying to create a boundary between the two. “Let’s just go in line and get our fucking god damn papers and get our god damn scrolls so we can fucking get into the fucking forest of death so that sensei won’t be fucking mad is that clear!?” Constance said raising her voice gradually with every word.

            Charlie and Matt nodded quickly not wanting to tick Constance off. She wasn’t pretty when she was angry. “Fine.” Avril agreed crossing her arms and turning away like a mad little kid. “Fine.” Jimmy also agreed doing the same gesture. Avril felt anger boil up inside her and glared and Jimmy from behind Constance.

            So they all got their papers and scrolls Team 13 the Heaven scroll and Team 16 the Earth scroll. Evan joked that Team 13 got the Heaven scroll because of his heavenly good looks that earned him some yeah right’s and whatever you say’s from his five other friends.

            “Listen up, all the teams have received their scrolls so everybody go to your gate and wait there. When the gates open the test is on!” Anko instructed the genin.

            “Sure mom, we’ll go to our gates!” Jimmy yelled back mocking Anko; Matt woohooed in agreement. And so all of the peanut galleries went to their gates.

            “We are going to kick some pansy ass!” Avril screamed getting her team mates pumped up.

            “Not if we kick it first!” Matt called from his gate Charlie threw his fist up in the air and yelled yeah, Jimmy was for once, totally out of it, he probably should've have drank those three beers. “Nice come back Matthew!” Avril yelled back teasing and mocking Matt with his real name. “Learn some come backs first!” Evan cupped his hands over his mouth and shouted back. Charlie and Matt just laughed.

            “So,” Constance began with her arms behind her back and shifting her weight from her heals to her toes again and again. Avril and Evan turned to her. “I figured that we should run as fast as we can to get ahead then target the ninja that have fallen behind, grab their scrolls and a few extras, just in case that we don’t find what we’re looking for.”

            Evan nodded. “And what if we do find what we’re looking for?” he asked. Constance smirked and stopped rocking on her heels; she planted her feet firmly in the ground and raised a fist in the air. “We grab more scrolls and set up traps to mess people up!” Constance declared. “Not bad, let’s do it!” Avril agreed raising her fist in the air. Evan shrugged and raised his fist in the air too. “Awesome!” Evan said and then they let their fists fall to their sides.

            Jimmy turned to his team, Team 16. “Why don’t we run ahead of the crowd, and then stop in plain view—ahead of the crowd—and get teams to target us so that we can get their scrolls?” Jimmy suggested. Matt put his arm around Jimmy “Y’know man, because I forgot to eat breakfast that sounds like a damn good idea.” Matt agreed picking something out of his teeth with his pinky. “Like I have a choice.” Charlie smiled ruffling Jimmy’s hair.

“D.T.D man D.T.D!” Jimmy laughed pulling away from his friends. “D.T.D?” Matt asked confused; which it didn’t take a lot to confuse him. “Yeah, don't touch the do!” Jimmy replied fixing his hair all three of them laughed.

Avril stared with her arms crossed and smacking on gum as one of the jonin at the gate opened the lock to the gate. “Too fucking bad that we don’t get a head start.” Avril complained still watching the jonin. “Nah, whatever, we won’t need one.” Evan countered sitting on the ground also smacking on gum.

Avril put her hands on her hips, glared and leaned forward. “Why not?” she asked. “Because we have you.” Evan said looking away from Avril. Avril had a puzzled look on her face.

“Okay, I know I’m awesome and all but what’s that supposed to mean?” Avril asked regaining her posture with her hands still on her hips. Constance sighed an annoyed sigh and sat on the ground next to Evan. She placed her fingers on her forehead and let out another heavy sigh, Avril scowled waiting for Constance’s answer eagerly.

“It means that we can have you see into the future for us so that we know who to attack and which direction to go.” Constance explained looking up at Avril. “Okay,” Avril began pacing with her finger on the chin looking to the sky “but I can't move when I’m having a vision and I need to write down stuff so that I’ll remember.” Avril said bouncing to a stop. “Yeah, we know that’s why you try to say directions and Evan will carry you on your back—like a piggyback ride.” Constance explained to a very confused Avril.

Evan quickly moved away from Constance and looked her dead in the eye. “Wait what the hell?” Evan asked confused also. Constance sighed. “Just do it or die.” Constance ordered.

“But my visions aren’t that clear…” Avril protested shifting her weight from her heels to her toes. “I know, so force more chakra into it and make it clear.” Constance ordered standing up and getting angry. Avril nodded very calmly, this was one of those rare times when fighting wasn’t good.

“Alright, heads up you maggots, the second part of the test has begun!” Anko yelled and the gates shot open and Team 13 and Team 16 shot out of the gates fast.
