“It’s time to begin,” a voice echoed from the front of the
room totally stopping Avril’s violent temper and making her turn to see if it
was the exam proctor on not. Constance looked
at the exam proctor and eyed him up in down. It’s not that Constance
had a crush on him, no way, she was curious about his scars and his way of
dress.
“I am Ibiki
Morino, your proctor” the voice continued, “and from this moment, your worst
enemy.” The voice paused for a moment letting a few gasps from student flew by.
Avril let out a hard laugh. “Yeah right!” she
yelled back from the back of the room. Everyone looked at her. Constance looked at the faces staring at there group and
laughed too. “What an egocentric moron!” Constance
yelled also. Evan let out a laugh too. “Good luck Morono!” Evan too yelled
back. Ibiki Morino scowled; Evan had just basically called him a moron.
Jimmy looked around his friends and
smiled, seeing that what they were getting at. “I thought that my sensei was my worst enemy. Not a moron like you!” Jimmy yelled cupping his hands his British accent completely
visible causing some girls to let out a sigh of love and swoon. Matt cupped his hands
over his mouth and bellowed “Seriously, who’s the really exam proctor ‘cause
your not him!” the five other peanut galleries laughed with him.
Charlie gained his confidence and
overcame his shyness he half said and half yelled “Screw this, when can we fail
and leave?” that earned him some high fives from Jimmy and Evan and a woohoo
from Avril and an “Oh yeah!” from Constance .
Charlie was feeling pretty good about himself today.
Ibiki ignored the peanut gallery
and went on his point his finger and said “First, you candidates from the
village of the Sound knock it off who told you you could fight? You wanna fail
before we’ve even begun?” Ibiki finished.
A sound village member spoke up
“Sorry it’s our first time guess we were a little jumpy, sir.” The member
finished. Avril was sitting in her seat with her feet up arms crossed and she
cackled “It’s our third time, good luck Mr. Sound Village.” Avril finished
laughing.
Ibiki turned to Avril with anger in
his eyes. Avril smiled, she struck a soft stop didn’t she? “As for you six, if
you want to fail so bad, say another word and you will be failed.” Avril sat
there smirking happily as the proctor got mad at her. She loved ticking people
off, its what she does.
“So no laughing?” Charlie
challenged with his arms crossed looking at the exam proctor. Constance
smiled and put a hand over her mouth in astonishment “Oh, we just talked didn’t
we? Too bad, too bad, we’re getting failed.” Constance
said in a mocking tone. “Halleluiah!” Matt said throwing his arms in the air.
Tai Sensei and Masayoshi Sensei
stepped out of the crowd in unison. “Please don’t Ibiki. They always do this
just to get us mad.” Tai started his arms were crossed and even though he was
blind Jimmy could tell that he was trying to shoot daggers out of his eyes at
them.
“They mean no harm. They are just
fools; they enjoy testing authority and getting thrown out of places. It is
attention that they crave, don’t give it to them and they will behave.”
Tai Sensei stated. He was madder than ever. Masayoshi Sensei just stood by and tried his best to silently support his friend.
“Fine, you won’t be failed” Ibiki
started. “You will get points taken off of your test.” Ibiki evenly stated.
Charlie, Avril, Evan, Constance, Matt and Jimmy all sighed in unison. They so
wanted to get thrown out. Then Ibiki continued with the thing about the
paperwork and numbers and what not.

Avril Bruen sat playing with her
hair hunched over in her desk in the back of the room. It was Round 1 of the Chunnin
Exams, the written part. And after that scene that she put on with giving Evan
and Charlie a serious beating and breaking the window with this loser’s face,
Ibiki, the exam instructor, particularly did not like Avril. And with the whole
speaking without permission and challenged authority, yeah, Ibiki seriously
loathed all five of Avril’s friends.
Avril was
waiting for Ibiki to finish explaining the numbers and paperwork. Avril planned
to flunk again only to seriously tick her sensei off. Charlie, Evan, Constance,
Matt and Jimmy also planned to flunk, for ticking off purposes only. They did
this every year since they were twelve. Flunk test, make sensei mad, get
punished, and then restart the next year.
Constance waited
for everyone to finish placing their paperwork on the desk before placing hers
on the desk and getting her number “Gah damn exams damn it all to hell...” Constance
sweared under her breath while violently jerking her number off of the desk and glarding at anyone who met her gaze.
She was also bored. Every one of Constance ’s
friends was bored out of their mind.
One by one
they placed their paperwork on the desk and grabbed their number and sat in
their seats. Amazingly Avril didn’t put up a fight or trip anyone or even diss
anyone, she was silent. Every one of them was silent.
Ibiki tapped
the board and explained the rules with his back to Avril and Constance. Which
was a bad move on his part because Avril was flipping him off, Constance was
making faces at him, Jimmy was smirking and Matt was chewing gum and not paying
attention one bit, he was more interested in looking out of the window and
trying to count how many times who could chew in one minute.
Ibiki was
already on rule number two. Matt only heard the “teams will only pass based on
the total number of points” Matt spit his gum across the room and yelled “But
I’m a dumbass!” Avril sat with her feet propped on the desk and her arms crossed,
she had her hat sideways and it made a shadow over her eyes. “Oh, tough shit for
you” Avril replied to Matt in an even voice. Matt started to freak out pretty
bad.
Ibiki
explained the sensei’s around the room next. “They are there to watch you
carefully for any signs of cheating.” Ibiki declared motioning around the room.
“Oh.” Avril said nodded her head. “I get watched by the Jonin and anbu all the
time, this’ll be easy shit.” Avril smirked and stopped nodding her head.
“Shut up!”
Ibiki yelled back at Avril. Avril once again smiled in mock sweetness and when he turned around she glared and flipped him off.
Ibiki
finally finished explaining and bellowed “Begin!” Avril was off to a slow start
and so were Matt and Evan and Charlie. Constance and Jimmy didn’t start at all.
Constance searched for Avril in the crowd when Avril was in eye contact Constance nodded to her. They were going to use Avril’s
time stopping abilities to cheat. Not only was it brilliant, but it was fool
proof.
About five minutes prior too the
tenth question Constance nodded to Avril.
Avril let out a heavy sigh--for acting purposes—and stopped time. Everyone
stood still except for the five others that Avril chose not to affect. They all
walked around the room looking for answers being careful not to move anybody or
anything.
When they found all of the answers they all
quickly and quietly headed back for their desks and positioned themselves in
the same way that they had been before Avril stopped time.
When the exam was over and the
tenth question came, all six were ready for it. Then Ibiki asked who would want
to quit. Evan looked around and found his team mates looking at him. Evan
lazily raised his hand. “Screw this I’m out.” He said in a lazy tone.
Avril and Constance rose from their
seats. “What the fuck are you talking about boy?” Avril screamed. “What!” Constance screamed at him. Evan could tell that he would
be murdered in about ten seconds.
“After all of this you just quit?” Constance asked still screaming. Avril nodded rapidly up
and down in agreement. “I will fucking kill you if you do this!” Constance
screamed fuming.
“Hey man,” Jimmy started getting up
out of his seat. “I thought that we decided on ‘we go where you go’ except not
in a stalker way! You never said that we were quitting on the first round.”
Jimmy calmly and evenly stated his thick British accent shining through. “Does
this mean that we quit?” Charlie asked. Jimmy looked at Charlie and shrugged.
“No, no, no! We do not fucking quit Evan
is just an idiot!” Constance explained to
Ibiki smiling. Then Constance turned to Evan
and shot him a death glare. “I take it back!” Evan shouted in fear and instinctively covering his head. Constance just smiled and sat herself down. Avril just
plopped down on her seat and let out a heavy sigh. She lifted her feet on the
desk and crossed her arms again.
Ibiki explained to them that they
passed and that there was no tenth question eventually and Anko came busting in
the window.
This caught Jimmy off guard and he
jumped. Matt just shook his head at Charlie.
“Who the fuck are you?!” Jimmy shouted breathless from that startle.
“I’m Anko the 2nd Exam
proctor.” Anko stated looking at Jimmy.
